Tips against acute complaints

Undoubtedly, pain in different parts of the body can be an incessant and considerable burden. Simply enduring this and hoping for a speedy improvement is often neither necessary nor sensible. Quick help is needed! However, one should carefully consider whether it really has to be medication. Often a simple home remedy is sufficient. Such ingredients relieve pain in a natural way and are also available in practically every household or are very easy to obtain. In the following, a total of ten home remedies will be explained, which can be used against different types of complaints.

Headache

Headaches are a problem that many people have had to deal with. In addition to medications, various home remedies are also available in this regard. One of them is peppermint oil. If you mix about 10 milliliters of this oil with 100 milliliters of jojoba oil and then gently rub the resulting tincture into your temples, forehead and neck, you should start to feel pain relief within 15 to 30 minutes. It should be noted, however, that none of the oil mixture gets into the eyes and that this home remedy is not suitable for children. Juniper tea can also be a very effective remedy for headaches. For this, simply brew a teaspoon of crushed dried juniper berries with a cup of boiling water. You can even fight headaches by means of a special foot bath. To do this, first place both feet in a bowl of water at about 35 °C. Then add hot water until the temperature reaches about 45°C. The footbath is a special treatment for headaches. By means of such a foot bath, blood circulation in the body is improved, which also counteracts headaches.

Toothache

Of course, no home remedy can save you a regular visit to your dentist. This also applies to acute toothache. However, some home remedies are able to relieve the pain in the meantime. One of them is clove oil. It relieves the pain and also has an antibacterial effect. All you need to do is dip a cotton swab in the oil and then dab the affected area with it. Savoy cabbage can also help against toothache. To do this, you must first remove the thick midrib of the cabbage head and then soften the leaves with a rolling pin. After that, they are wrapped in a linen cloth and this is held against the affected cheek. Once about 30 minutes have passed, pain relief should occur.

Back pain

A warm salt bath can help against back pain. To do this, fill the bathtub with water at around 38 °C and add four kilograms of standard table salt. You then bathe in the resulting solution for 20 minutes. Afterwards, the salt solution should not be washed off immediately, but first wrapped in a bathrobe or a large bath sheet for about an hour and allowed to dry on the skin. Once this is done, rinse thoroughly.

Stomach discomfort

Stomach discomfort is another problem that many people have faced. These include heartburn, stomach pain and nausea. One way to counteract this is to specifically take foods that soothe an upset stomach. These include, for example, potatoes, carrots, bananas or rusks. They have a positive effect on digestion and also provide the organism with important nutrients. Another option is to put a hot water bottle on your stomach. Thanks to the warmth, the cramped stomach can relax because it stimulates blood circulation and thus makes the muscles looser.

Pain in the limbs

If arms and/or legs hurt, every single movement is difficult. However, such aching limbs are usually a symptom of a deeper-seated illness such as a cold or flu. This must be taken into account in the respective treatment. Because of its anti-inflammatory and immune-strengthening effect, garlic, for example, is very suitable for use against aching limbs. It can be eaten raw, lightly fried in butter or added to a salad. Another home remedy is warm or cold compresses. For this purpose, cloths are dipped in warm or cold water and wrapped around the calves, for example. The warming or refreshing effect should help to relieve the pain. Another option is to place a hot water bottle on the abdomen. Thanks to the warmth, the cramped stomach can relax because it stimulates blood circulation and thus makes the muscles looser.
